Josh,
To select polygons based on surface, enter modeller and make sure you
have the ploygon button selected at the bottom of the screen. (Forgive
the terminology, but I'm trying to do this from memory.) Next key in "W"
and you'll get a list of syrfaces and polygon counts. Pick the surface
you want and then click on the "+" sign next to the "With Surface"
section. That should do it. Again, I'm doing this from memory while on my
lunch break. Hopefully enough of the info is accuate to get you started.
